Poorly installed insulation is inefficient regardless of materials chosen

Hotspots
A good insulation has a high tolerance to air movement and therefore prevents the heat exchange from either side. Any pockets or gaps in the insulation will result in heat loss or gain. These are called Hotspots and they can draw air movement from an area many times there size.

Mould
Poor quality or old insulation may deteriorate and attract mould. This can result in a reduction in the insulations efficiency as well as other major health concerns.

Vermin and Insects
Old or poorly treated insulation can become a perfect home for insects and animals. Insulation products that do not have a long life span should be replaced when recommended.
